Wondering how to get a Guard Card?
Here’s how to become a certified security guard in New York.

Our founder Bruce Weiss explains the process.
Hi, I'm the founder of Guardian group services and we were one of the first security guard training schools in New York State to be approved to teach all the security guard classes online, and right now we do more online training than anybody else.

We use Zoom as a platform and you can do the class on any device: tablet, laptop, phone as long as it has a camera. And all of our instructors are experts in distance learning.

People ask us all the time, how do I get a security guard license? Well, in New York State the process is actually pretty simple and pretty fast. First, you have to take your 8 hour Pre assignment Training Class which we do online. After that, your fingerprints are taken for a background check and your application gets sent to Albany (NYS department of state division of licensing services) so they can finish processing your license.

Once Albany (New York Division of Licensing Services) receives your application it usually takes them about 2 to 3 weeks to activate your ID (security guard registration card) and once it's active you can start working for most security guard companies.

After you are hired you will also have to get a 16-hour Certification, and you have 90 days from the time of employment to do that.

Here at Guardian group we have developed a state-of-the-art system that handle all of these steps remotely and electronically, so we can help anyone in New York state get a security guard license.

Right now security guards are more in demand than ever before. This is one of the fastest tracks to employment there is. Please check out our website and call our office if you have any questions.

We hope to see you soon - online of course. Thank you and stay safe!
