8 Hour Annual In-Service Training Course

The 8 hour annual in service training course for security guards must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course, and annually thereafter. Licensed Security Guards are required to complete the 8 hour annual security guard training in order to keep your security guard registration card in good standing, under State laws in NY.

Guardian Group Services is one of the first training schools to be approved by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to teach the 8 hour annual security course online. We’ve also been approved to offer all the Security Guard Training courses online.

This Security Guard 8 Hour Annual Class is designed for students who have completed the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training course, and the 16-Hour On-the-Job Course. The course online is designed to refresh and cement important concepts. It provides the student with updated and enhanced information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.

The 8 hour annual security guard course is available weekly via Zoom on weekdays, weekends and even weeknights. All you need is a computer or phone with a working camera, microphone and a good internet connection.

Under our current schedule, we offer our online Zoom sessions Wednesday evenings, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings. A link will be sent via email ahead of the class. Once you’ve successfully completed the annual 8 hour course, a certificate of completion will be sent.

In NYS, the 8 Hour Annual Security Course is mandatory for security license renewal. Mandatory training courses must be completed, and on file with the Department of Licensing office before submitting your renewal application.
